Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach

Island attitude, relaxed coastal living and a thriving arts and entertainment scene uniquely places Jacksonville Beach FL at the heart of Northeast Florida’s beaches communities. A short walk or pleasant bike ride takes the family to the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier, one of the most instantly recognizable symbols of this seaside community. The recently reconstructed pier stretches over the Atlantic for nearly a quarter of a mile, great for salt water fishing and a view of the surfers.

Festivals and celebrations

Another well-recognized symbol of Jacksonville Beach living is the Seawalk Pavilion and its accompanying park. Steps from the shoreline, the Pavilion is home to annual festivals, celebrations and Florida-style outdoor relaxation. Spring officially begins at Jacksonville Beach with the Springing the Blues Festival, a free outdoor blues music festival designed to celebrate the blues and promote support of the arts. The three-day oceanfront event is packed with blues performances and activities for families. Joining in the success of the Blues Festival, the Great Atlantic Festival and the Seawalk Music Festival now keep the spring and summer festival-busy, and the Jacksonville Celtic Festival ushers in the fall with bagpipes and balmy weather.

Art, theatre, history and more

Sometimes it’s nice to cool off indoors, and at Jacksonville Beach Fl, there’s plenty to do inside, too. Players-by-the-Sea, recently voted the Best of Jax Community Theater Group by Folio Weekly for the sixth year in a row, is an artist-led group featuring local playwrights who present exciting dramas and musicals. The J. Johnson Gallery offers work from modern and emerging artists in a wide range of media, and The Beaches Museum and History Center offers a glimpse into the past with numerous archives of the beaches housed in a restored 19th century home. Jacksonville Beach’s 22 square miles are packed with history, cultural and artistic offerings, natural beauty and outdoor activities and some of the finest dining options in Northeast Florida. With more than 20 outstanding private and public schools, vibrant Jacksonville Beach welcomes you and your family to add to that history.
