Atlantic Beach
Like its neighboring beaches communities, Atlantic Beach FL enjoys a rich mixture of arts, community pride, unique boutiques and recreational activities. South Atlantic Beach features the thriving Beaches Town Center, a pedestrian friendly area with several blocks of shopping and dining options. Walking up and down its brick streets, couples can enjoy the perfect night on the town, and families can relax under the palm trees on a Sunday afternoon. Nestled between the sandy dunes and the town center, the newly renovated One Ocean Resort and Spa offers amenities for visitors and locals alike along the majestic Atlantic Ocean.
Ecotourism and the parks of Atlantic Beach
In addition to two miles of sandy beaches and 14 ocean access points, Atlantic Beach has 10 parks for recreation where nature trails are abundant. The parks include protected wetlands in their natural state and offer excellent opportunities for ecotourism and weekend excursions. As one example, Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in Atlantic Beach offers surfing, a freshwater lake, camping and an assortment of shells along the shore. Long a popular family destination, Hanna Park has challenging bike trails and some of the best surfing breaks in the area. In the artistic heart of the community, the Adele Grage Cultural Center has a 60-seat theatre – home to the Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre – and an art gallery for monthly exhibitions. The community room opens to Bull Memorial Park which has courts for basketball and tennis, an amphitheater and a large playground. With 10 highly regarded schools, and some of the best and most unique dining, shopping and recreational experiences in the region, Atlantic Beach Fl is an attractive community for those with discerning taste.
